How do I Add or Edit MinGWiki Pages?
First: You Must Sign In
Second: You must request access to create pages
Due to SPAM control we do not allow the creation of wiki pages or comments to new users until that user requests permission to do so on the mingw-users mail list.
Add a New Page
When you come to save your new page, you may wish to assign a short URL reference name for it. A short distance above the "Submit" button, (which you will use to save the page), you will see a section entitled URL path settings. Within this section is a check-box bearing the legend Automatic alias. If you leave this checked, then a URL will be automatically derived from your page Title; if that is a long title, then the automatically generated URL will be long, and unwieldy. Please uncheck the Automatic alias option, and enter a short and distinctive alternative URL in the text input control, a short way below; this alternative URL must be of the form: wiki/ShortPageName, with neither a leading, nor a trailing slash character.
Edit an Existing Page
Every page has an 'Edit' tab; when you click the tab you will be able to edit the page.
Please take care, when you save the page, that you preserve any existing alias referring to it. A short distance above the "Submit" button, (which you will use to save the page), you will see a section entitled URL path settings. Please uncheck the Automatic alias option, in this section, if you see an existing alias specified in the associated text input control a short way below, and do not change the existing text.
References to Non-Existent Pages
If you click a reference on a page and it does not exist you will be given the option to search for the page or to create a wiki page for it. Please fill free to create the page if you have information to put into that page.
NOTE: The new MinGWiki pages might not yet exist and you need to convert the old page to the new format. Please help with this conversion so that we can remove the old wiki ASAP.
We have chosen a provided MediaWiki formatting syntax filter provided by the pearwiki_filter module. This filter only supplies a subset of the format. If you use a format from the documented format that doesn't work here it is most like not programmed for. You have two options; learn the Drupal API and code for it or try something else.
